Minh Nguyen (he/him)

Psychotherapist & Mental Health Counsellor

I am a person-centred, trauma-informed psychotherapist and mental health counsellor with a Master's Degree (with Distinction) in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Western Sydney University, a program accredited by the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). I also hold a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Communication from RMIT University Vietnam.

I receive professional supervision from Mrs Penny Gardner - a highly experienced Clinical Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor, Lecturer, Academic Program Advisor, Curriculum Developer, and Author with over 14 years of expertise in the field.

My core focus is to offer a space with authenticity, openness, and unconditional empathy to actively listen without any judgement. I bring my presence to create a safe, nurturing place for connection and change to welcome any stories that you wish to bring to therapy.

I have worked with children (6 to 12 years old), families, and adults (20 to 50 years old) from Australia and Vietnam with several disorders such as ASD, ADHD, PTSD, Anxiety Disorder, Depressive Disorder, and Stress Disorder.

In my work, I position myself as an integrative therapist who weaves in theoretical knowledge from interpersonal neurobiology, Attachment theory, Polyvagal theory, and different therapeutic modalities, with Person-Centred Therapy as the foundation:
  • Family System Therapy
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy
  • Sensorimotor Therapy
  • Psychoeducational Therapy
  • Child-Focused Play Therapy

Our Story

At Mind Nest, we understand how important it is to feel safe, understood, and supported when navigating life's challenges. That is why we have created a space where your thoughts and emotions are nurtured with care. The name "Mind Nest" reflects our philosophy: combining "Mindfulness" with "Nest," we offer a warm, secure place for mental harmony and self-discovery. Just as a nest represents safety and belonging, Mind Nest is here to help you find stability, healing, and peace - because your mind truly matters.

Founded by Minh Nguyen, a professionally trained and approachable psychotherapist, Mind Nest is a deeply personal endeavour. The brand carries Minh's initials, symbolising the care and connection at the heart of this work. Minh is dedicated to being a trustworthy companion on your recovery journey, empowering you to move forward with strength and confidence, no matter what challenges you face.

Mental health is often surrounded by the stigma that views it as a disease rather than a condition that can be managed and understood. At Mind Nest, we are working to change that. We believe mental health care goes beyond medication. It is about understanding the origins, impacts, and potential for growth that come with a condition—exploring the deeper "whys" and "hows": When did it happen? Why did it happen? What are its consequences? How can I reclaim my best life?

Through compassionate and professional therapy, we provide a safe space where you can answer these questions and rediscover your strength. At Mind Nest, healing is not just about recovery. It is about reclaiming your life and feeling empowered to move forward. Let us walk alongside you on this journey, where healing begins and hope takes flight.
